Melbourne has a superb range of accommodation to suit all budgets, tastes and delegates’ needs. Most of Melbourne’s city hotels are within walking distance of MCEC, meaning delegates can navigate their way to and from the venue. Suppose walking is not you’re your preferred mode of transport. In that case, tram travel in the city of Melbourne is free, where most hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment are located. Delegates can quickly get to the Congress venue and move easily around the city.
The IUCr 2023 team have secured a range of accommodation from shared apartments to single premier rooms, all in the vicinity of the venue and first-class facilities for your consideration.

Deposits
Accommodation will not be confirmed until payment of the first night is received by Credit Card or full pre-payment is received by Cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer. Your payment will be forwarded to your hotel and credited to your room account. Delegates must settle their account balance with the hotel concerned upon check-in/out, depending on the hotel’s policy. If accommodation deposits are not received before 22 July 2023, your room will be cancelled and released back to the hotel. The IUCr 2023 Secretariat does not take responsibility for accommodation if payment is not received by this date.
Cancellations
NO ACCOMMODATION PAYMENTS WILL BE REFUNDED ON OR AFTER 22 July 2023.
Participants who confirm an accommodation booking with a credit card or full pre-payment and wish to cancel on or after 22 July 2023 are liable for the total cost of their accommodation nights cancelled.
To cancel your reservation, please contact The IUCr 2023 Secretariat at accommodation@iucr2023.org; name changes to a reservation can be made at no charge.
Change of Booking
Any change in booking must be made in writing to The IUCr 2023 Secretariat and NOT directly to the hotel before 22 July 2023. Any changes received after 22 July 2023 will be at the hotel’s discretion and based on availability.
Early Arrival
As check-in at most hotels is not until 14:00, it is possible that your room may not be ready for immediate occupation on your early arrival. Whilst hotels will do everything possible to accommodate early arrivals. If you wish to be guaranteed immediate occupation, you can pay an extra day’s tariff for the night before you are due to arrive. If you want to take this precaution, please advise the IUCr 2023 Secretariat on the registration form so we can notify the hotel that your room is required early.
Late Arrival
Please indicate if you will arrive at your hotel after 18:00. Failure to do so might result in your room being released.
